Custom illustrations create designs rooted in story.
I do not usually illustrate on the job, but I use it as practice to sharpen story, tone, and clarity in my design work.
It also helps in a pinch! For a middle school lesson, I used traditional media to co-create a short digital comic sequence with Chris Andert and Leon Manfredi, which was used for a middle school digital learning experience.
